Call For Abstract
You are invited to submit your abstracts to the Fourth Middle East Rheumatology Conference hosted by GCC Association of Immunology and Rheumatology, to be held at Sofitel the Obelisk, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 16-18 May 2025.
Depending on the number of submitted abstracts and their quality, the abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentations.
Any abstract received after the deadline will not be accepted. Upon completion of the evaluation, an ‘Accepted’ or ‘Rejected’ message will be sent to authors by email, approximately 7 days after the deadline for submission.

Submit your Abstract
You are invited to submit your abstracts to the Fourth Middle East Rheumatology Conference hosted by GCC Association of Immunology and Rheumatology, to be held at Sofitel the Obelisk, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 16-18 May 2025.
Depending on the number of submitted abstracts and their quality, the abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentations.
Any abstract received after the deadline will not be accepted. Upon completion of the evaluation, an ‘Accepted’ or ‘Rejected’ message will be sent to authors by email, approximately 7 days after the deadline for submission.
All accepted abstracts will be published in the Saudi Medical Journal (Pubmed Indexed).
Disclosure
A disclosure form identifying commercial relationships for all co-authors must be completed by the submitting author, if their abstract has been accepted for publication. The submitting author signs and verifies disclosure on behalf of all co-authors. Disclosure information for accepted abstracts will be made available to the meeting attendees.
Co-Author Approval
The submitting author must verify that all co-authors have read and approved the submission of the abstract.
Acceptance & Rejection
Upon completion of the evaluation of submitted abstracts, an ‘Accepted’ or ‘Rejected’ email will be sent to authors. Upon acceptance of an author’s submission, the following instructions below are applicable:
- The presenting author should confirm their attendance upon receiving the acceptance email within one week.
- The availability of any sort of grant for registration, travel and/or accommodation will be mentioned in the acceptance email, without any guarantees at the abstract submission stage.
- Accepted authors will receive one complimentary registration pass and sent up to 2 weeks prior to the conference.
- Authors who confirm their presence will receive a free communication code based on their category of submission 2 weeks before the conference.
Abstract Guidelines
Language:
- All submitted abstracts must be in English
Abstract submission is open till March 29, 2025, 18:00 GMT+4
The submitter is not required to be the presenter and may designate any author as the “presenting author.” However, only the presenting author will receive all notifications and will be responsible for the oral presentation and/or poster upload. Neither the submitter nor the co-authors will receive notifications or have the ability to upload the poster or present the abstract.
Proofreading
Ensure that your abstract is well-structured and free from spelling and grammatical errors before submission. Carefully proofread your abstract for spelling, grammatical, and scientific errors before submission. Accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted.
Title
Titles should be written in lowercase, except for the first letter, acronyms, proper nouns, and words following colons. Avoid using a full stop at the end of the title. Spell out Greek or scientific characters (e.g., beta). Titles should be concise yet comprehensive. Company and trade names, as well as special symbols or characters, are not permitted in the title.
Submission Body
- Submissions to be within a maximum of 5000 characters
- Each Author first names, and last names are mandatory
- Each Author affiliations are mandatory
- Acknowledgements including working group to be listed under acknowledgement
- Declaration of any conflict of interest
- Abstracts can be revised and edited until the submission deadline. After the deadline, the Middle East Rheumatology Abstract Review Committee will not accept any further modifications.
- Abstracts should be submitted without references
Table and figures
- Each abstract may include a maximum of two visual elements in total, such as 1 graph and 1 table, 2 graphs, or 2 images. Multi-panel figures are permitted.
- Abstracts containing tables must limit each table to a maximum of 12 columns and 20 rows. Tables converted into images are acceptable, provided they are of sufficient quality to ensure readability. Note that data in images cannot be modified once the abstract is accepted.
- Each table, figure, or image must be referenced within the main abstract
Resolution of Images
- A minimum resolution of 300 DPI (dots per inch) is required for standard figures.
- Detailed images, such as line drawings or graphs, should have a resolution of 600 DPI or higher.
- The preferred file formats are JPEG, TIFF, PNG, or PDF
- A white or transparent background is recommended to emphasize the data.
Publication ethics
- Each abstract should obtain and fulfill the local Research ethic committee requirements and approval/s
- The abstract must not contain any material that is libelous, defamatory, or otherwise unlawful. It should not include content that violates privacy rights or infringes on proprietary or copyright rights.
- The abstract must not disclose patient identities. If there is any chance a patient could be identified, written informed consent must be obtained from the patient for inclusion in the abstract.
- If the work includes previously published material or content owned by a third party, the author has secured the rights to use it in accordance with applicable laws or obtained a transferable license from the copyright holder.
- Explicit consent to submit has been obtained from all co-authors and the relevant authorities.
- Authors bear full responsibility for the entire content of their work.
- Once an abstract is accepted, it cannot be withdrawn or submitted to another journal or conference. If this condition is violated, the author will be blocked from any future submissions to any activities organized by GCC-AIR, and the misconduct will be reported to the other conference or journal where the withdrawn abstract was resubmitted.
