BMJ CASE REPORT WORKSHOP
From Clinical Case to Publishable Case Report. One working afternoon that takes you from a case you have seen to a manuscript in progress. Led by the Editor-in-Chief of BMJ Case Reports, the workshop alternates short teaching blocks with writing time, so you work on your own case report template as you learn. Accepted case reports, following BMJ’s standard review process, will be published as part of a Case Reports Supplement developed through a collaboration between GCC-AIR and BMJ.

Each talk is followed by a guided writing session in which authors work hands-on on their own case report template. Provisional programme; the sequence may be adjusted by the faculty on the day.
What You Leave With
- Your own case report template, substantially completed during the workshop
- A clear understanding of what BMJ Case Reports publishes and what editors look for
- Working knowledge of consent, ethics and the author statements required for submission
- A clear plan to prepare your case report for potential submission to BMJ, subject to BMJ publication criteria and requirements

Who Can Join and How to Prepare
Applicants must:
- Be a GCC-AIR member
- Be a rheumatologist
- Attend the Middle East Rheumatology Conference in person (the workshop is onsite only and is not transmitted virtually)
- Bring an initial clinical case idea to develop during the workshop
- Commit to completing the case report within 4 months following the workshop
Select the BMJ Case Report Workshop during registration, prior to completing your payment. The workshop fee of USD 200 is separate from the conference fee, and registration will close once the expected number of participants has been reached.
